  • NCAA Men: Lewis Climbs to No. 6

    Here's a little word problem for you. If Lewis beats Penn State and Penn State beats Stanford, does that mean that Lewis can beat Stanford? I'm not sure it does. But this week's AVCA Poll says yes. Lewis comes in at No. 6 on the poll, one place above Stanford (who they haven't played) at No. 7, but strangely one place below Penn State (who they have played and beaten.) Hmmmm...

  • NCAA Men: Movement Below Top Five

    This week the top five teams remained unchanged but there was quite a bit of movement below them in this week's AVCA poll.

    The biggest fall went to Long Beach State. The 49ers fell three spots to No. 11 after losing in five to CSUN. Northridge rose two spots to No. 9 after the victory. Pacific climbed three spots after an unexpected four set win over Santa Barbara. The Tigers are now at No. 12 while the Gauchos fell two spots to No. 15.

  • USAV Launches Grass Roots Pro League

    The Premier Volleyball League (PVL) will launch later this year with a single event at the U.S Open Nationals in Salt Lake City. The idea is to create a grass roots league for adult women and offer them a place to play after college.

  • NCAA Men: BYU Back on Top

    The UCI men's team enjoyed exactly one week in the top spot before getting knocked off by the previous No. 1, the BYU Cougars. In two matches in Irvine, BYU left victorious winning in three on the first night and five on the second. UCI fell back to No. 2 in this week's AVCA poll.

  • Prince Harry and Beach Volleyball

    Reports are that in his official role as ambassador for the games, Prince Harry is set to make an appearance at the beach volleyball venue during the London Olympic Games. Though nothing is certain it appears that he along with brother William and sister-in-law Kate will be attending various events in hopes of bringing a little magic to what they called the "less high-profile events."
